Where being Lost takes on a whole new meaning..

Saturday, January 07, 2006

The first week of the New Year hasn't been too uppity; has it? The terrible accident at the Sago mine brought back memories of when my ex was in a cave in. Also when we lost 3 miners in an explosion years ago. Back then my dad was still working and was what they called a safety man. He was one of the first to go into the mines to look for the men that were trapped. He found one of them. And to this day he doesn't talk much about it! It changed something in him, less than a year after the accident he retired. My ex never worked a Sunday night (hoot owl shift) so once every three weeks I would have to call him off! Yep, you read that right. He was such a mama's boy. Still is! But then again he might have some fore sight of working in the mine when it has been idle from Saturday to Sunday night. My heart goes out to the families of the miners. We can only hope and pray that the lone survivor makes a speedy recovery. He may be the only one that could tell the world of what happened on Jan. 02, 2006.
